Donnybrook Cinema Mutual: Sean Hartter...
I haven’t had to write something like this before. I don’t know what I’m doing, but what I do know is I just drove the entirety of Los Angeles Route 134 with tears in my eyes. I don’t recommend it. It’s not fun. Unfortunately, it was unavoidable as I heard of today’s tragic passing of Sean…
Sean’s passing is a great personal loss to me, and to the art world in general. It’s even more terrible in that it happened just as his work was really taking off with DVD covers, film festival posters, regular work featured on Entertainment Weekly’s website, and his new book which he was prevented from properly launching at Boston Comic Con (where we were finally set to meet in person) and then in Los Angeles, where he was heading when his life came to an end. If you are familiar with Sean’s precision in casting and choosing directors for his alternate universe movie posters and other work, you know what a loss to the creative world his death has brought. If you are unfamiliar with his work you should seek it out immediately. For me, he was a warm, humble, enthusiastic and supportive friend taken away far too soon.
